At 21, Sonny started his fitness journey with a goal in mind: to build muscle, get stronger, and lose fat. When he first came to me, he was 74kg and struggled with confidence, especially in the gym. As a newcomer to the gym scene, he was unsure of himself and often felt out of place. But he was ready to make a change, and wanted a program that would help him build muscle while losing body fat, particularly around his stomach.

After evaluating Sonny’s goals and lifestyle, I crafted a lean bulk plan tailored specifically for him. The goal was to put on muscle while minimising fat gain, and we were determined to do this in a sustainable way. Sonny needed a plan that would allow him to achieve these results without overwhelming him or forcing him to make huge sacrifices. So, we built a workout plan that worked around his university schedule, making sure he could hit training consistently without feeling burnt out.

The flexibility of this custom plan helped him stay committed and ensured he had the consistency needed to make lasting progress. Along with the workout plan, I also provided him with a tailor-made nutrition plan that fuelled his workouts and kept him in a slight calorie surplus to maximize muscle growth, while still keeping him on track with his fat loss goals. The key to Sonny’s success was making sure that his nutrition was sustainable and didn’t feel like a restrictive diet. By staying consistent and following the plan, he was able to avoid plateaus and continuously progress for a full 8 months, which led to incredible results.
